Evaluation 3 What Have We Learnt From Our Audience Feedback?

From our rough cut we learnt that we needed to add a lot more shot types into our music video. we found that there were gaps where there was nothing or a clip was to long for example the band playing or me lip syncing which we only used for 2seconds....if that. So we went off and got some more footage, shortened clips and worked on parts where it didn't feel right.
Surprisingly we used clips that we thought we weren't going to use for example most of the green-screen. But we found that with effects the green-screen could be very effective. Adding the silloettes, it gave the music video a more complete feel to it. After this we asked what people thought of the music video and they came up with the following responses that was good about the music video:

So from this feed back we found that people really liked the green-screen with the words behind me, they said it was very effective and because the song is catchy they felt they could sing along, not my intention but its what happened.

We also asked for any improvements they thought would improve this music video and they came up with the following responses:

This gave us an idea of what we needed to work on such as the lighting and touching up the lip sync. So we went back and touched up the lip sync and added appropriate effects and ended up with our final music video!

We then moved onto the ancillary products and came up with this design:

But the problem we found with this album cover was that people said it was too simplistic and if they saw it on the shelf it wouldn't catch their eye so we decided to change it  to something more eye-catching but still simple. From feed back we found that they liked to be able see the band on the front and  did some research into  album covers and found this album which gave me an idea:

After seeing this we came up with this idea:
Originally we were going to use the one on the right go on in the middle but we found that people found it to much of an eye ache and it couldn't be read so instead we put black and red on white which is easily readable, 'rocky' and simple

We asked 2 sets of groups what they thought of this final front cover and we got the following responces:

We had trouble with the middle of our album cover, first i must say that a lot of this work was left for me to do because that is what the group expected me to do, they wouldn't do it. But this is what we have come up with:

Unfortunately we did not get any audience feedback for this product. If we got some I think comments might be it is very simple and could have more information about the band inside.

So, this is our magazine Ad. Originally we were going to have an image of me in a checkered hoodie which would go with the Bi-Polar idea we had but then we thought it would be a better effect if I was wearing darker clothing because it is associated with rock. We asked our target audience which one they preferred and the majority preferred the darker clothing.
